Mr. Robert Schaffer Sr., 73, of Jacksonville, passed away on September 28, 2019 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Hertha Schaffer; and brother, Richard Schaffer. Mr. Schaffer was a native of Chelsea, MA and a was a long-time resident of Jacksonville. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service with twenty-two years of service. He was also a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran with twenty years of service. Mr. Schaffer is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kum Sun Schaffer; son, Robert John Schaffer Jr. and his wife, Sherie; grandchildren, Morgan Leann Schaffer and Kenzie Grace Schaffer; sister, Susan C. Nesbitt and her husband, Bobby; sister-in-law, Donna Glover; niece, Jennifer Smith; and nephew, Richard Smith. At the request of Mr. Schaffer, no public service will be held.
