Paulette Marie Doughty Trader Saturday July 13th 2019

Saturday July 13th 2019
Evangelist Paulette Marie Doughty, beloved daughter of the late Edgar Wilson and Lessie Mae Trader, lived in a loving home with her late grandparents, Joseph and Flora Justice in Mappsville, Virginia. She later married Rogers Doughty, who became her very best friend. She went home to be with the Lord Saturday July 13, 2019 after a lengthy illness. She received her education in the public schools of Accomack County. Paulette was baptized at First Baptist Church in Mappsville, Virginia. She was one of the first and youngest musicians there, organizing her own choir, “The Gospel Travelers.” After marriage, she moved to Norfolk and searched for a church home to fulfill the Master’s mandate. She found that home after many years of searching in Kingdom International Ministries in Newport News, Virginia. She became a devoted member, loving The Lord with all her heart, and not being afraid to let the world know God was first in her life. Her life revolved around her daughter and granddaughters. She was the best mother and grandmother that you could possibly find on the face of this earth. Paulette had such a sweet spirit and a love for all people. During the summer she made sure to keep one of her nieces or nephews with her, letting them know that life had so much to offer them. And oh, don’t forget the many friends who lived with her in order to attend college or just to get a new start in life. This woman of God was willing to help you regardless of how others felt as she provided meaningful advice and encouragement to all. She loved gospel music, reading, and games and in her later years tennis took priority in her day to day activity. She watched matches, listened to matches, and yes talked about them. Paulette retired from the Norfolk Public Health Department. Knowing she was a hard worker Iron Bow Technologies requested that she work with them as a Queue Manager, where she was employed and worked until the day she was hospitalized. Paulette was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Wilson and Lessie Mae Trader; grandparents, Joseph and Flora Justice, Ceylon and Fannie Abbott; and a brother, Terry Byrd. She leave to cherish her memories: her loving daughter, JeCola Doughty of Virginia Beach, VA; two granddaughters, Jenesis and Journee Doughty, both of Virginia Beach, VA; a devoted loving friend until the end, Rogers Doughty; Michelle (Eric) Townsend Richmond, VA (1st daughter that she raised); six sisters, Louvenia Justice of Temperanceville, VA, Shirley Smith of Pocomoke, MD, Phyllis (Kervin) Lewis of Mappsville, VA, Joyce Fisher of Mappsville, VA, Vera Broadwater of Mappsville, VA, and Linda Wilson of Philadelphia, PA; three brothers, Calvin (Betsy) Trader of Parksley, VA, Edward (Teresa) Trader of Nelsonia, VA, and Edgar Wilson, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, god-children, and friends.
