Nellie Joe (Weaver) Rodriguez August 27, 2019 Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Memorial Donation Nellie Joe (Weaver) Rodriguez, a dear believer in, and lover of, the Lord Jesus Christ was called into His presence on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. She was a twin and the youngest of four daughters born to Alfred Neely and Lizzie Hood Weaver. As a young girl, she was saved and began her life-long relationship with her dear Lord. After having worked in industry through her young adult life, she was left longing for something more. It was the desire to learn more of how to love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ that led her to study at Tennessee Temple University (then College). It was there that she met, fell in love with, and later married fellow student Theodore R. Rodriguez. Thus began her sixty years of marriage pursuing the Lord with her husband, and the four children to come – Joshua, Vangie, Titus, and Beth. Throughout these sixty years she loved her husband, raised her children, and kept the family as they pursued and ministered to the Lord in the United States, Mexico, and Australia. As a wife and stay-at-home mom, Nell home-schooled her children, cared for all the family’s needs, and maintained her joy in the Lord Jesus Christ on a daily basis. She took every opportunity to speak to and share with others her joy in her beloved Lord. Often she would be found singing, calling the name “Oh Lord Jesus!”, or offering a prayer or praise to Him. She also loved to gather with other believers in their homes to enjoy her Lord together with them. This was her daily life, and for her, each day was full of joy, meaning, and purpose. And even though toward the end of her time here with us, her mind wandered and memories faded, her freshness always returned at the mention of His name, “Jesus.” Again, she would find her joy afresh and offer some utterance concerning Him and His preciousness. As those still here, we miss seeing her face, hearing her voice, or catching a glimpse from the corner of her hawkish eyes. We miss holding the hand of the one who prepared many meals, bandaged injuries, cared for illnesses, and encouraged troubled hearts. Even though we now miss her for our own selfish reasons, we all are full of joy knowing that she is with the One who is most precious to her. To Him we give thanks for her and her life that truly magnified Him. May He be blessed forever!
