Mary Beth Streeter, age 70, of Lapeer, formerly of Port Huron, died Thursday, September 5, 2019. She was born March 16, 1949 in Port Huron, to George and Waunnetta (Reynolds) Miller. Mary graduated in 1967 from Port Huron Northern High School. She married Daniel Lee Streeter on January 19, 1975, at Colonial Woods Missionary Church in Port Huron. Mrs. Streeter was in charge of the Child Care Program at the Lapeer Community Center for over 20 years, she was proud to have taken care of so many children in the community. Mary was a longtime member of the Lapeer Church of the Nazarene and the Songs of the Lakes Chapter of Sweet Adelines. Mrs. Streeter enjoyed knitting, cooking, singing, flowers and animals of all sorts…especially her cat “Oliver”. She truly loved time spent with family and friends, whether going to dinner, going to church or singing with the Sweet Adelines. Mary Beth never had a driver’s license, so she had many dear friends at the Greater Lapeer Transportation (GLTA). Mrs. Streeter is survived by her father: George Miller of Port Huron; siblings: Roland (Joan) Miller of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Eric G. (Nancy) Miller of Port Huron and Lee (Clayton) Uhl of Mayville; brother-in-law: Wayne (Gail) Streeter of Lapeer; sister-in-law: Margo (Tim) Cook of Naperville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband: Daniel Streeter; and mother: Waunnetta Miller. A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Streeter’s life will be held 11:00AM Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the Lapeer Church of the Nazarene, 3521 Fort Knox Dr., Lapeer, MI 48446. Pastor Drew Jolly will officiate the service, followed immediately by a funeral luncheon at the church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM. In accordance with Mary’s wishes cremation has been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Mrs. Streeter’s cremains will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lapeer Church of the Nazarene or Songs of the Lakes Chapter of Sweet Adelines, 1029 Barry Dr., Lapeer, MI 48446.
