Manuel’s Obituary Manuel Rodriguez Hernandez, Jr. age 75, of Brady, Texas passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 in Brownwood, Texas. He was born July 3, 1944 in Melvin, Texas to Manuel S. Hernandez, Sr. and Aurelia (Rodriguez) Hernandez. He married Mary J. Gomez on October 31, 1960 in Brady, Texas. Manual was a self-employed sheep shearer by trade. He enjoyed fishing and playing pool. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady. A Mass of Christian Burial for Manuel Hernandez, Jr. will be held at 10:00am Thursday, September 19, 2019 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady where the Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. Pallbearers will be Patrick Bara, Ray Torres, Sr., Ray Torres, Jr., Isaac Rodriguez, Philly Hernandez and LaTrisha Vara. Manuel Hernandez, Jr. is survived by his sons Juan Hernandez of Brady, TX, Sam Hernandez and companion Elodia of Mason, TX, Bobby Hernandez and wife Josie of Brady, TX and Jesse Hernandez of Mason, TX; daughters Maria Vara Martinez of Brady, TX and Margaret Bara and husband Patrick of Brady, TX; sisters Lucy Menchaca and husband Jimmy of Mason, TX, Benita Zapata and husband Gregorio, Jr. of Muscatine, IA and Virginia Soto of Muscatine, IA; 23 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
