He would not have had it any other way. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Mr. Walter J. Harris, deceased and Mrs. Bessie P. Harris, who survives and the husband of Mrs. Katrina Dunn Harris, who survives. Mr. Harris was educated at Western Alamance High School and worked as a Machine Mechanic until his retirement from Kayser Roth. He was a member of Apostolic Church of Alamance County. All who knew Dan knew him as an advisor and life coach. He was quick to give nuggets of wisdom to everyone he loved, whether you wanted it or not. He freely let you know what he thought was best for you, and he always did it with everyone’s best interest at heart. Dan’s favorite hobby was shooting pool and he was a master of the game. He was respectfully called “The Punisher.” Another favorite pastime was instructing the barbers, at L&M Barber Shop, on how to do their job, even though he had never cut hair a day in his life. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Left to cherish his memory are his most loving, dedicated, and devoted wife, Mrs. Katrina Dunn Harris of the home; one son, Mr. Daneon L. Harris of Burlington, NC and two daughters, Ms. Teresa Brown and Ms. Lakeysha Enoch both of Greensboro, NC; his beloved mother, Mrs. Bessie P. Harris of Burlington, NC; six siblings, Ms. Barbara Yellock, Mr. Scott Harris (Brenda), Ms. Vickie Young, Mrs. Pamela Dewer, Mr. Murphy Harris, and Mr. Terry Harris all of Burlington, NC; his precious grandchildren, Shyiem Felton, Christ Brown, Dillon Enoch and Patrick Enoch; his loving mother-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Lee Dunn and a special sister-in-law, Mrs. Sherice Dunn Love, both of Burlington, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother. Mr. Harris’ funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 12:00 pm at Morning Star Baptist Church with Bishop Terry L. Young officiating and Bishop C.P. Pulliam performing the eulogy. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. The viewing hour will be held at the church from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with his family arriving at 11:30 am to receive friends, and all other times, at the home. Danny Lee’s public will be held on Wednesday, Sept 4, 2019, from 1:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Alamance Funeral Service has the honor of serving the Harris Family.
