Catherine Watson “Kitty” August 19, 1939 – September 11, 2019 Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Catherine Watson, affectionately known as “Kitty,” born to the late Beatrice and Verdell Wilmer on August 19, 1939. She departed this life peacefully on September 11, 2019. She received her education from the public schools of Wilmington, Delaware. Before becoming ill she retired from the Furniture Barn after more than 20 years of employment. Kitty was a devoted sister, aunt and grandmother. She came from a loving close knit family of 15 children who were raised by their parents on 13th street. Kitty helped raise many of her siblings, nieces, nephews and other family members. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and playing cards. She enjoyed taking bus trips with her best friends Faye and Darlene, who were lovingly known as “The Golden Girls.” Kitty was a loving, caring, and family oriented woman with a lioness spirit. On December 11, 1955 she gave birth to her only son James Tucson Wilmer also known as Booty. On December 30, 1977 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Tyson Watson. She became a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church on June 20, 1999. She was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and Verdell Wilmer, her son James Wilmer; five brothers and five sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory 2 sisters, Elva Stewart and Erica Wilmer. 2 brothers Bradford and Alonzo Wilmer. 7 grandchildren; James May (Renee), Terri Brooks (William), Jamal and Jamie Miller, Sheronda Lynch, Evelyn, and James Brooks; along with a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
