Binnie Lea (Potter) Hale February 20, 1944 – September 21, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Binnie Lea (Potter) Hale, 75, of McAlester, died Saturday, September 21, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory in McAlester. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, Kansas with burial to follow. Binnie was born on February 20, 1944 to Pedro Potter and Edna Lorene (Tuttle) Tanner in Baxter Springs, Kansas. Binnie married William Henry Hale on October 21, 1961 in Columbus, Kansas. She worked as a Physical Therapy Technician and Respiratory Therapy Technician for several years in addition to being an outstanding homemaker. Binnie loved her family more than anything else in the world. She enjoyed many things, especially her crafts. She made decorative Kleenex boxes and homemade crochet afghans. She was especially fond of her shoes and purses when it came to her appearance, and her luxuries always had to match. Binnie is survived by her husband: William Hale of the home; daughter: Tammy Hale of McAlester; son: Kyle Hale and wife, Denise of McAlester; grandchildren: Ashley Hale, Dereck Hale, Cassie Hale, Bryson Hale, and Cambree Hale; and great-grandchildren: Isabella Granneman, Hunter Hale, and Hailie Jamison. She was preceded in death by her parents: Pedro Potter and Edna Lorene Tanner, stepfather: Chedor “Doc” Tanner; son: Kevin Hale who died in 1995; brother: Thomas Potter, and aunt: Doris Arnall who was best known as “Auntie.” In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Binnie to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Shriners’ Children’s Hospital.
