November 15 1931 September 18 2019
On Wednesday, September 18th 2019, at the age of 87, Alice Kotopoulis passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Alice was born on November 15, 1931 in Somerville, NJ. She raised her 2 children in Bound Brook and spent the last 30+ years living and enjoying life in Manville. She worked for many years at Somerset Trust and Manville Mason Supply and along the way made lasting friendships that she cherished her entire life. She is survived by her children Dennis Kotopoulis (wife Carol) and Rene Kotopoulis, and grandchildren Danielle Robertson (husband Ryan) and Steven Kotopoulis. She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Christine Harris, brother Harry Harris, best friends Lillian and Vicky, grand-dogs Brandy and Lakota, and cat Blue. Alice will be remembered for living life to the fullest, putting a smile on the face of all those around her, and making us laugh until we peed our pants. On a typical day you could catch her screaming at the Steelers and the Giants on TV (but if they played each other- it was always the Steelers), partying it up at bingo, betting on the horses, going to Atlantic CIty, and taking care of the neighborhood strays. Although she spoke fluent Greek, she made sure to teach her grandchildren only all the bad words (who still remember them by the way) and snuck them all the junk food they ever wanted. She was loved by so many that they called her family. Born Chrisanthy Marie Harris, Alice was known by many names: Mom, Yaya, Aliki, Oopie, Mrs. K, Aunt Alice, and even Dusty Balls in her football pool (sorry, secrets out!). Her friends and family looked forward to her yearly birthday songs- which were different every time but included classics such as a duet with Alexa and a sultry Marilyn Monroe impersonation. The mold was broken the day she came into this world and there will never be another like her. She will be greatly missed. As per her wishes, a small private ceremony celebrating her life will be held with close friends and family. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center. www.sthuberts.org/ To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Alice C. Kotopoulis please visit our Sympathy Store.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Alice C Kotopoulis November 15 1931 September 18 2019.
