Veda’s Obituary Veda L. Autem, 84, of Parsons, passed away at 10:03 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at Elmhaven Nursing Home in Parsons. On March 10, 1935, Veda Louise Autem was born to Gus and Alice (Kelso) Autem in McCune, Kansas. She grew up and lived in the McCune area most of her life. She attended Pittsburg State Teachers College. Veda had worked as a bookkeeper in Sedalia, Missouri for a brief time before returning to McCune. She had worked at the bank in McCune for several years and also for City Publishing in Independence. Survivors Include: One brother – Gus E. Autem of Parsons, Kansas One sister – Pauline Autem of Parsons, Kansas Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary “Colleen” Mockten. Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 23, 2019, at the McCune Cemetery in McCune, Kansas. Friends may call from 1 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
