Stanley Hazard Burdick (March 3, 1932 – August 19, 2019) passed unexpectedly after hip surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital. “Stan” was predeceased by Edythe Obst Burdick (wife of 45 years) and Jeanne W. Burdick. He is survived by his three children, Carol Ott, Kenneth Burdick and Steven Burdick, his son-in-law (Glenn Ott), daughters-in-law (Cathy and Betsy), his grandchildren (Christopher, Gregory, Andrew, Benjamin, Kate, Jennifer, John and Megan) and his great grandchildren (Brandon, Samantha, Jack, Oscar and Lucy). Stan lived most of his life in Connecticut where he practiced law for over fifty years. For the past fifteen years, he enjoyed the warmth of Florida and relocated fulltime to Melbourne and then Bonita Springs. Stan was an avid sailor for 60 years and loved spending time on his sailboat, even when the breeze did not cooperate. Stan was an active 40+ year member of Alcoholics Anonymous and a long-time community volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Road to Recovery (driving cancer patients to treatment). Recently, he became an active member of Estero United Methodist Church. Stan was a compassionate soul who was very dedicated to family, friends and community. Memorial services will be held at the Estero United Methodist Church (8088 Lords Way Street, Estero, FL 33928). On Monday, September 9th at 10:30 AM.
