Rosa Baylor Hall February 02, 1925 – July 31, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Rosa Baylor Hall of Charles Town died on Wednesday, July 31, 2019. She was 94. The only child of Rosa Nelson Baylor and Anthony Hankey, III, she attended St. Hilda’s Girls School in Charles Town and graduated from Western High School in Washington, D.C. During World War II, Mrs. Hall joined the Air Transport Command and was later employed by the U.S. Department of State. She accompanied her husband, Harold E. Hall to diplomatic postings in Australia, India, England and Canada. She also worked for the Devonian Foundation and taught classes in antique and period furniture. Mrs. Hall was a member of Zion Episcopal Church, The Colonial Dames of America Chapter III, The Jamestown Society, The Daughters of 1812, Daughters of the Cincinnati, and the Jefferson County Historical Society. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Neill Hall and partner Patricia Lee Nero of Providence, Rhode Island, her son, Stephen Baylor Hall and wife Urath Gibson Hall, of Charles Town, and grandsons, Nicholas Baylor Hall and wife, Vanessa Fidelina Reyes and Peter Newton Hall. Her husband of 54 years died in 1998. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019 at Zion Episcopal Church, Charles Town with the Rev. John Willard officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Episcopal Churchyard Cemetery. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Zion Episcopal Church, 221 E. Washington St., Charles Town, WV 25414 and St. Philips Episcopal Church, 411 S. Lawrence St., Charles Town, WV 25414. Arrangements are by the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.
