Richard A. Kirkman, of Horsham, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019. He was 71. Rick was the loving husband of Donna Kirkman (nee Kucerik) with whom he shared 42 years of marriage. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Robert and Ruby (nee Weadon) Kirkman. Rick was the Assistant Township Manager of Horsham, a black belt through the Philmont Karate Club, and was a firefighter with the Horsham Township Fire Department for over 48 years, serving as a past chief. In addition to his wife, Rick is survived by his daughter, Kelley Kirkman; his brothers, Rob, Jeff, and Brian Wilz; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Charles Kirkman and a step-mother, Margaret Kirkman. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, September 6, 2019 in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road and again in the funeral home on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 10 am until the time of his funeral service at 11 am. His interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org/support or to the Fox Chase Cancer Center, www.foxchase.org/giving.
