Lois May, age 84, of Sibley, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the Country View Manor in Sibley. Funeral Services will be Friday, August 2, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Reformed Church in Sibley. Rev. Luke Schouten officiating. Burial to follow at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Thursday, August 1, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. with the family present from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley. Lois Faye May was born on May 9, 1935 in Rushmore, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Clifford and Gertie (Harms) Wills. She lived her youth in Rushmore and attended a country school. She moved to Sibley where she attended school and graduated from Sibley High School. She was united in marriage to Arthur May in Little Rock, Iowa on April 18, 1953. They lived in Sibley where Lois was employed by Solo, Upper Des Moines, and Job Service of Iowa. Lois was the County Fair secretary for 30 years and sold Avon for 50 years. She retired at age 70. She then worked for Elder Care until she went to the Country View Manor in 2017. Arthur passed away on October 19, 1998. Lois always had a positive outlook on life. She liked to go on bus trips to casinos in Iowa. She liked to travel on Amtrak to visit family in the Seattle, Washington area. She enjoyed making artificial flowers for the grandchildren’s weddings. Lois was a former member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Sibley and then transferred her membership to the First Reformed Church. She was a member of the Eagle’s Club in Sheldon, Iowa for many years. She passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the Country View Manor in Sibley. Those left to cherish her memories are 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Raymond Rutzen of Ashton, IA, Brenda and Brian Howard of Ocheyedan, IA, Tami and Todd Sampson of Worthington, MN; 8 grandchildren, Tracy, Travis, Michele, Tori, Jason, Jennifer, Trevor, and Ashley; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild due in January; one sister, Myla (Eugene) Montgomery of Federal Way, WA; special friend, Mike Otto; many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; infant son, Craig; grandson, B.J.; infant great-grandson, Blake; her parents and sister, Mary Norman.
