Laura Mae Copeland of St. James, Missouri passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the St. James Living Center at the age of 101. Laura was born on February 18, 1918 in Phelps County, Missouri to the late Albert and Ethel Mae (Frost) Wools. Miss Laura Mae Wools was united in marriage to Arthur Reed in 1936, this union was blessed with three children. She later married Clarence Keipas, this union was blessed with one child. Laura went to beauty college in St. Louis, and worked at several small shops in the city for the next 20 years. She then wanted to return home to be around her family and friends. She really enjoyed gardening, shopping, and most of all her family, she was quite proud that she was a great-great-grandmother. She was a longtime member of the St. James Christian Church, and attended regularly until he health no longer permitted. She was a loving and devoted mother, and grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, and will be forever remembered and missed by all that knew and loved her. Laura Mae Copeland is survived by her children, Shirley Hart, of Vichy, MO, Ron reed and wife Sandy, of Vichy, MO, and Cheri Reasoner, of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Eddie Hart, Shelia Terry, Jon Reed, Ron Reed JR, Scott Reed; great-grandchildren, Colby Reed, Ashley Reed, Katlynn Reed, Carley Reed, Shelly Allen; great-great-grandchildren, Nathan, and Blake Allen; sister Erma Ragsdale, of Columbia, MO; brother, Edward Wools and wife Joretta, of Rolla, MO; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son Roy Reed. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 1:00PM at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Gary Lane officiating. Internment will be at the Skaggs Cemetery with Kenny Allen, Blake Allen, Mitch Terry, Shelly Allen, Ron Reed JR, and Jon Reed serving as pallbearers and Nathan Allen serving as an Honorary Pallbearer. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Chapel prior to the service on Thursday, from 11-1PM.
