Johnny’s Obituary Johnny Bray, 71, of Lakeside City passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019 after a short battle with cancer. Johnny was born September 24, 1947 in Enloe, Texas to the late Cecil and Nellie Bray. Johnny and his wife, Tela, spent many years in Vernon, Texas where they both worked for the North Texas State Hospital. In recent years they had moved to Lakeside City where they became active members of the Anchor Baptist Church in Wichita Falls. Johnny is survived by his wife, Tela Bray of Lakeside City; children, Jonathan Jett and Lisa Bradley; step-daughter, Kerry Sheppard and husband, Rusty of Lake Arrowhead; grandchildren, Lindsey Sheppard of Wichita Falls, Riley Chapman and husband, Rusty of Wichita Falls; great-grandchildren, Jett Cain and Nolan Chapman; brother, Lonnie Bray and wife, Dian of Burkburnett; brother, Don Bray of Vernon; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents; he was also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Bray of Houston; sisters, Sadie Hessor of Vernon, Mary Burden of Wichita Falls, Jackie Mandrell of Kingston, Oklahoma and Wanda Adkins of Vernon. The family will have a visitation between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Anchor Baptist Church with interment following in Electra, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls or the American Cancer Society. Read More
