August 15 1947 August 21 2019
When I come to the end of my journey and I travel my last weary mile. Just forget if you can that I ever frowned and remember only the smile. Forget unkind words I have spoken; remember some good I have done. Forget that I ever had heartache and remember I’ve had loads of fun. Forget that I’ve stumbled and blundered and sometimes fell by the way. Remember that I have fought some hard battles, and won, ere the close of the day. Then forget the grief for my going I would not have you sad for a day. But in summer just gather some flowers and remember the place where I lay, And come in the shade of the evening when the sun paints the sky in the west. Stand for a few moments beside me and remember only my best. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of John Michael Hardin please visit our Sympathy Store.

  1. My name is Janet (Davis) Martin and I knew Mike 35+ years ago.   I am deeply saddened to recently learn that he passed away last year.

I feel so fortunate to have known him and I have very, special memories of him that I will forever treasure.

My heart goes out to his family for such a great loss.

Thank you for everything Michael.   I will never forget you.  You are forever in my heart.

    With love and sympathy,
    Janet (Davis) Martin

  2. It is with great sadness that I learned of my friend’s passing.
Michael Hardin which is his name as I knew it was a sweet easy to talk to man.
Mike was working with Dan Dull, who also became my friend, when I walked into their office while I was wondering around the hallways of a real estate office when I was a “rookie in training” for Wallace & Wheeler.
We instantly hit it off & all 3 of us became friends.
We attended his wedding in Bellevue but sadly that didn’t last.

Mike & I went skiing quite a few times & he generously allowed me to stay in his shared condo at Whistler a lot.
Mike was an avid reader, which I am as well, and we talked a lot about the books we liked & read. Same for movies & we had very similar tastes there also.

One time when he stayed with our house in Kirkland we learned that Michael rarely if ever slept. So that’s how he was able to devour so many books!!! He would just lay there & never go down to sleep & he just learned to function that way. So he read in bed to pass the time.
When I last called & spoke to him about 5 years ago he told me he was in a lot of pain but was taking meds for it that did help him & he was also getting “some” sleep as well.

    I’ll never forget you Mike.
You will be long missed & loved.

All my best to you my friend.

    Jonathan Hanson
