Jean Rose Christie March 02, 1924 – August 22, 2019 Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Jean Rose Christie of Grove City went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, Aug. 22, 2019 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. She was 95. Jean was born on March 2, 1924 in Kittanning, PA to William Charles and Meadie (Cunningham) Geiger. She married Homer W. Christie on June 10, 1949. She was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where she obtained a degree as a Dental Hygienist. Jean began her career in Pittsburgh and later in Uniontown before becoming the school dental hygienist for Grove City School District. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Grove City and had a passion with the college ministry within the church. Jean enjoyed studying God’s Word and spending time with her family. She was truly an example of a Godly wife and mother. Survivors include, her beloved husband of 70 years, two children; Carol Jean Ritter and husband Jerry, Indianapolis, IN, and William L. Christie and wife Joan, Stuttgart, Germany, four grandchildren, Michael Christie and wife Amy, Michelle Bolin and husband Scott, Sara Seelman and husband John and Kim Ritter, eight great grandchildren. Her parents, a son, Robert Geiger Christie, a grand daughter, Kristina Lynn Ritter, and two sisters preceded Jean in death. Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church of Grove City for College Ministry. Funeral Service: First Baptist Church, 103 Cranberry Road, Grove City on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Visitation Hours: First Baptist Church, Grove City on Monday, Aug. 26, 2019 from 5 to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, form 10:00 to 10:45 AM Burial: Woodland Cemetery.
