BEULAH MAE PERRY-JOHNSON August 26, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Obituary Beulah Mae Perry Johnson was born on March 20, 1929 to Erlean Pinkney- Saunders in Fort Worth, Texas. Beulah was adopted by her parents Lizzie and Berry Perry Sr when she was three weeks of age. Beulah received her formal education in Saint Paul Shiloh school system in Oakwood, Texas. She graduated from I.M. Terrell High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Beulah accepted Christ as her Savior at Emanuel AME Church at an early age. She moved to Houston in 1952 becoming a Member of South Wesley Chapel AME Church and was united with Evangelist Chapel AME Church since 1955 where she served as a Board of Trustees, Usher, Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Member of the Missionary Society, President of Willing Worker Club, and member of New Life Prayer Band. Beulah was united in holy matrimony with Elbert Johnson. Their union was blessed with 1 child. Beulah was employed by Veterans Administration Medical Center as a Licensed Vocational Nurse for 30 years. During a long and productive lifetime, Beulah Mae Perry Johnson has demonstrated in countless ways her dedication to the welfare of others and has earned the respect and affection of people from all walks of life. She is known in her community by many different titles but most of all she’s known as M.O.M. (Mother of Many). In her leisure, she enjoyed traveling, reading, and visiting others. Beulah Mae Perry Johnson departed this life on Monday, August 26, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents Lizzie and Berry Perry Sr.; Earlean Pinkney-Saunders, Willie Perry (Brother); Charles Perry Sr. (Brother) and Berry Perry Jr (Brother) She leaves to cherish her memory : Apostle Dr. Dekontee L. Johnson (son); Devin Johnson (Grandson);Carolyn Alean Coffey (Sister); Clydie Lavern Green (sister); Ethel Mae Wilson – Braimah (sister); Elvis T. Saunders (brother); Annie Ruth Goodman (cousin); Ladeatt Walker (Niece); Debra Martin (God Daughter); along with a host of her beloved nieces and nephews, other family and friends who were blessed to know her. The Celebration of Life Service will be held on 8/31/2019 at Evangelist Chapel AME Church-3401 Hondo Street-Houston, TX. Viewing from 9-10am, Funeral at 10am.
