Obituary of Anthony Walter Mixon Anthony Walter Mixon , 83 , of Irmo , South Carolina passed away August 20, 2019 at his Residence in Irmo , South Carolina . He was born on October 22, 1935 in Natalbany , Louisiana to Sherman and Mary (Imbraguglio ) Mixon . Anthony Mixon graduated from Hammond High School class of 1953 then joined the US Marine Corps and rose to the rank of sergeant while serving in the Korean War. Anthony earned a Bachelors degree at Southeastern Louisiana University and a Masters degree from Florida State University. Anthony retired in 2000 as the Vice President for Human Resources at Bonitz Construction in Columbia, SC. Anthony was a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, cooking and traveling the World with his wife, Karen. Anthony is survived by: His wife, Karen Mixon, of 56 years, his 3 Children: Tonya Murrell, Derek Mixon and Meredith Moon (Luke), and 7 Grandchildren: Nicholas Murrell, Cameron Murrell, Ethan Murrell, Sophia Murrell, Hunter Mixon, Dalton Mixon, and Havilah Moon. He was preceded in death by: His parents, Sherman Louis Mixon and Mary Imbraguglio Mixon, and his sister, Sarah Mixon Davis, Memorial services will be at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church on 24 August 2019 at 2:00 PM with Reverends Joshua Knott and Bill Solomon officiating. Reception will immediately follow the memorial service in the fellowship hall. Internment will be at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery on 26 August 2019 at 3:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church at 5637 Bush River rd. Columbia, SC 29212
