CHURCH HILL- William H. Hurd “Bill”, age 72, of Church Hill, passed away July 24, 2019 after a 2 year battle with cancer. He was of the Baptist Faith and was saved and baptized at a young age. Bill worked as a pressman for 38 years and retired from Hawkins County Press. He was in the Army National Guard of Virginia for 6 years. He was a well-known knife maker and flint knapper. He enjoyed Native American/Primitive art. We want to thank all our family and friends for your kind words, visits and calls. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kyle & Gladys Hurd. He is survived by his wife: Wanda Hurd, Son: Freddie Hurd, Sister: Janie (Butch) Woodward, Grandchildren: Ben Hurd, Dalton (girlfriend, Celeste Gonzalez) Ingram, Great-Grandson: Dio Ingram and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 5-7 pm at Tri-Cities Funeral Home, Church Hill, and Funeral services will follow at 7 pm with Rev. Greg Fletcher officiating. The graveside service will be Sunday July, 28th at 1PM in Church Hill Memory Gardens, with Rev. Greg Fletcher officiating. Tri-Cities Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hurd family.
