Veronica Mataska-Spampinato, of Weybridge, Vermont passed away after a short illness surrounded by her loving family on June 4, 2019. “Ronnie” as she known by many was born on September 25, 1947, the daughter of Felix and Johanna (Wynne) Mataska. She was born and raised in Hudson, NY and was a graduate of Hudson High School. She moved to Middlebury, Vermont in 1990 , in 1992 found her calling first as a cook then eventually becoming a residential advisor at Norththlands Job Corp where she was affectionately known as “Ma” and worked for over 20 years. Ronnie is survived by her sister Phyllis 3 daughters Jamie Everts & fiancé Sean Roberts, Cynthia Wack (Michael), and Carole Oram (Terry), 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Vincent, 2 sisters Joan and Dolores and 2 nephews. We would like to thank the staff at UVM Porter Medical Center and the staff UVM Medical Center Burlington ICU for the care of our mother in her final days and hours as well as her longtime doctor Lewis Holmes for his dedication to our mother over the last 25 years. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:30 pm on Monday, July 22, 2019 from Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. A memorial service will begin at 6:30 pm.
