Verna Marrie of Seabrook and Greenbelt MD. died peacefully on Wednesday June 12, 2019. Verna was predeceased by her ex husband Fred Marrie and grandson Ryan Marrie. She was survived by her children: Michael Marrie (Jane) Gary Marrie, Rick Marrie (Michele), Susie Dornan (Bobby); grandchildren: Sara Marrie, Kevin Marrie, Monica Vooght, Alana Marrie, Derek Marrie, Stephanie Marrie, Lisa Russo. and great-grandchildren: Florence Vooght and Camden Marrie; Jack, Kyle, Miranda Russo; siblings Betty Meeks and Allen Monroe and extended family and friends. Church service was held at 2 PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 5924 Princess Garden Parkway Lanham, MD. Memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Elise Presbyterian Church, Robbins, NC, with burial to follow at Pine Rest Cemetery. Verna joined the Womens Army Corps in 1943, was discharged in 1945 and remained active in the WAC Vets organization for many years. She retired from the State of Maryland and was involved with the Greenbelt Golden Age Club and always had a great love for Grace Church and her church family. Verna loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was so happy to become a great-grandma. She enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing and crafts.
