Tommy McGaha, age 71 of Newport, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents John Arthur and Pearl McGaha; brother Billy Joe McGaha; infant sister; and sister-in-law Ava McGaha. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Joyce McGaha; son Matthew G. McGaha; daughter Lisa Askew (Billy); grandchildren Alyssa Askew, Zack Askew, and Josiah Ellison; brothers Edmond McGaha; sisters, Jane Susong (Stanley), Janice Rolen (Leon), and Joyce Baxter (Ralph); sister-in-law, Louise McGaha; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Brown, Betty Brown, Larry Brown (Janie), Dorothy Hooper (Bobby) and Rosemary Brown; beloved fur baby Roxy; several nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to Amedisys Hospice and to the ICU at North Knoxville Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday with Mike Hannon and Cleo Williamson officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 in Union Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Barry McGaha, Eddie McGaha, Scottie Hooper, Shannon Hooper, James Cochran, and Michael Hood.
