  1. Tom Gibbs was more than a friend, he was a brother Submariner. We both served at the same time, on sister ships, Tom on the Sea Leopard SS-483 and me on the Pomodon SS-486. I met Tom 13 years ago and tried to get him to join our local Submarine Veterans Group, but I couldn’t separate him from his motorcycle. He would take weekend rides, then call me and tell me where he went. I will try to make arrangements for his last ride home to Dayton. I miss you already.
