Tariq Nassir Al-Kassar, 84, of Tallahassee, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Seven Hills Health and Rehab Center. He was born in Baghdad, Iraq on July 1, 1935, to the late Nassir Hussein Al-Kassar and the late Am’sha Al-Kassar. For many years he was a law professor at the University of Baghdad. After moving to Tallahassee, he became a volunteer at the Leon County Public Library and enjoyed gardening, reading and watching movies. He is survived by his daughters, Laura Al-Kassar and Somer Al-Kassar; brother, Wael Al-Kassarl; and sister, Sahera Al-Kassar; as well as many friends that he made throughout his life. Funeral Services (Salat al Janazah) will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Masjid Al-Furqan, 3617 Old Bainbridge Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32303. Interment will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.abbeyfh.com.
