Gurdial Singh Sekhon, age 76, passed away at home on Saturday, July 27, 2019. Gurdial was born in India on January 3, 1943. He retired as a manager from Bhel, was the president of Gurudwara Sahib Trilokpuri, Vice Chairman of GHPS Kalka Ji and was the secretary of the Resident Association, Mayur Vihar, Phase-1. Gurdial loved reading Gurbani and reciting his daily prayer, Amritdhari Gursikh. He selflessly helped those around him in need and worked very hard in the face of many adversities in order to become successful and to ensure that his children had a successful future. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Gurdial was survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Amarjit Kaur Sekhon (nee Bains); children, Inderdeep Singh (Tarnjit) Sekhon and Amandeep Singh (Amanjit) Sekhon; grandchildren, Divjot Kaur, Gurveen Kaur, Sachman Singh, Sukhman Singh, and Ekam Kaur; brothers Ajaib Singh Sekhon and Paramjit Singh Sekhon; and sisters, Sharanjit Kaur and Malkit Kaur. Preceded in death by his parents, Banta Singh and Gurbbaksh Kaur Sekhon. A Cremation Ceremony for Gurdial will be held on Wednesday, July 31st, 2019 at 11:00am at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to anyone in need.
