Robert Earl Smith of Brookhaven, Mississippi April 29, 1947 – July 10, 2019 Funeral services for Robert Earl Smith will be on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in Easthaven Cemetery. Bro. Steve Zorich will be officiating the services. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, July 17, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Mr. Smith, of Brookhaven, MS, passed away Wednesday morning, July 10th, 2019 at Ocean Springs Hospital in Ocean Springs, MS at the age of 72. He owned and operated Smith’s Car Wash on Union Street for many years. Known affectionately as, “Poon”, Robert Smith was devoted to his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, J. Hugh and Mattie Smith. He is survived by his only child, a daughter, Brandi Michelle Baryo, his granddaughters Ashley Michelle Taft and Holly Anne Baryo, his brother Bobby Smith, his sisters Phyllis Bihm and Polly Greer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
