Rickey D. Gibson, Sr., 66, of Newton Falls, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019 at University Hospital, Portage Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1953 in Morgantown, WV, the son of George E. and Violet (McCabe) Gibson. After his formal education he went on to serve our country in the US Army. His work history included Kmart Distribution Center and RCI. In his spare time he enjoyed riding motorcycles, listening to loud music, drinking beer and having bonfires. Cherished memories of Rickey will be carried on by his fiancé Candy George of Newton Falls, son Joseph (Shannon) Gibson of Raleigh, NC, and daughter Tiffany (Anthony) Proffitt of Sidney, OH, brother Jack Gibson of Newton Falls, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, son Rickey Gibson, Jr., brothers Jerry and Louis Gibson, and sisters Sherri and Elizabeth Gibson. Family and friends may join together for a funeral service on Friday, July 19 at 2 PM at the Newton Township Cemetery. There will be Military Honors following the services. Services will be followed by a gathering at the Christian Community Baptist Church at 422 Tod Avenues, Warren, Ohio 44485.
