Richard (Dick) Lee Wardyn, son of Hubert and Sally Mae Golus Wardyn, was born December 17, 1949, in Redfield, Iowa. The family moved to Hayfield, Minnesota in 1951, where he spent his childhood, before moving to the Guthrie Center area in 1965. In 1968, he met Sandra SueHebing, his wife of 49 years, and they started a family.
