November 16 1938 July 5 2019
Reverend Henry D. Harvey 80 of Van, WV went home to be with the Lord on July 5, 2019. He was born November 16, 1938 to the late Kenna and Opal Harvey. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry, Allen and Ralph Harvey, sister, Edna Turner and baby daughter, Lora Hensley. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years; Virginia Faye, two daughters; Evelyn Tittle (Douglas), and Audra Cook (Roger), one son; Henry Dayman Harvey, Jr. (Deanna), two brothers; Don(Orpha) and Lee Harvey (Brenda), two sisters; Betty Rock and Bonnie Pendry (Tom), seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Henry was assistant Pastor at Freedie Freewill Baptist Church and has served the Lord all his life. He was a proud UMWA member who retired from Lightfoot #1 Mine. Dad loved preaching for the Lord and helping others. One of his favorite sayings was, “Watch me now!” If we could watch him now, we would see him rejoicing in the presence of the Lord with friends and family. Our family is grateful for everyone’s love and support during this difficult time. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019 Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Rev. Steve Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison, WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
