Born in Chicago, IL on April 6, 1928. Beloved wife of the late Gregory P. Buhelos, having shared a beautiful 54 years of marriage together; Preceded in death by her loving sister Nikki Demitropoulos, brother Nick Sallas, and grandson Gregory Buhelos; Beloved mother to Peter, Dean, and Gary (Barbara); Proud grandmother of Stefanie (Nik) Giachino, Alexis (Kevin) Brady, and Nicholas Buhelos; Loved great-grandmother of Penelope Brady and Miranda Giachino; Devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews; Caring Godmother for many years, and mentor to many. Long-time executive at John M. Smyth Homemakers Furniture. Lifelong steward of St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, church choir singer, and Philoptochos member. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the St. Nicholas Capital Campaign Project will be appreciated. Visitation for Penelope Buhelos will be held on Friday, August 2nd from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service of 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 10301 S. Kolmar, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.
