Patricia McAlister went home to her eternal reward on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. Pat was born on July 23, 1935 in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. She was the fourth child (and only daughter) of Stafford Davis and Vera Bryant Davis. She was predeceased by her husband, Everett (Mac) McAlister, son Kevin McAlister and brothers Wayne Davis, Don Davis and Sam Davis. Pat is survived by daughters Cindy Bowers (Phil) of Lilburn, GA and Linda Cheek (Chris) of Bluffton, SC; granddaughters Ashley Wood of Decatur, GA, Kate Duffee (RJ) of Winder, GA and Amanda Bowers of Rome, GA; great-granddaughter Oaklee Duffee; brothers Bill Davis of Ruston, LA and Gayle Davis of Oklahoma City, OK; cousin Marilyn Campbell of Moore, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews scattered from Oklahoma to Pennsylvania. Pat met Mac in Wichita Falls, TX where she was working and going to school, and he was stationed with the United States Air Force. After marrying in 1954, they began a family in 1955 and moved to Pittsburgh where Mac earned an electrical engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh while Pat was raising Cindy and Linda. After Mac’s graduation, he began a career in the aerospace industry that carried the family to Florida, California and Louisiana, and ultimately back to Florida where Mac worked in the space program until his retirement. Once the girls were in school, Pat began a career as an accountant for the Mims Citrus Co-op near Titusville, FL and worked there until her retirement. After retirement, Pat and Mac moved to Loganville, GA to be closer to the grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed their ball games, dance recitals and school activities. They also enjoyed traveling throughout the continental U.S. in their motor home, which provided them many opportunities to make new friends and experience new adventures. Throughout their life together Pat and Mac were very active in the Methodist Church, especially during the years in Florida where Pat served as a Bible school teacher and church treasurer, among other roles. Her faith set an example for her family and we are all glad that she and Mac are now reunited in the presence of the heavenly Father. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 3, 2019 at the Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel.
