Nick D. Collins July 14, 1962 – June 28, 2019 PLATTSBURGH- Nick D. Collins, 56, of Route 9, passed away Friday June 28, 2019 at his home. He was born in Sharon CT., on July 14, 1962 the son of Gerald and Flora (Darrah) Collins. Nick was a graduate of Thayer High School and worked in Meriden Connecticut until moving to the Plattsburgh area. Nick was a kind and generous man and a truly gifted artist. Survivors include his wife Angela Collins; daughters, Katelyn and Kristy; brother, Gerald “Bob” Collins and his wife Pat; sisters, Darlene Mashtare and Dora Matthews and her husband Robert; one grandson, Jake; and close friend, Laurie Collins, the mother of his children; brother-in-law, Clayton Mashtare; also several nieces and nephews. Nick was predeceased by his parents and his son, Nicholas Collins, who passed in October of 2018. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, with a funeral service following at 3:00 pm. Burial will take place at a later date. To share a condolence with the family, please visit, www.rwwalkerfh.com.
