MILDRED (SIPPOS) TOMKO Mildred “Millie” Tomko, age 94, a 7 year resident of Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth Personal Care Home in Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania, died there on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. Millie, formerly of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, was born one of seven children of Stephen J. and Mary Magdeline (Urban) Sippos in Homestead, Pennsylvania on August 19, 1924. Millie served in the United States Navy during World War II and was an avid Bingo player and Crafter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Tomko in April of 2000 and four of her siblings, sister, Betty Mae Novak and brothers, Robert, Bernard and Thomas Sippos. She is survived by two brothers, Richard (Dolores) Sippos and Daniel (JoAnn) Sippos and a sister-in-law, Marge (the late Robert) Sippos. Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 on Monday, July 8, 2019 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. Her funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 9, 2019. There will be a Prayer in the funeral home at 11:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Elizabeth Township at 12 Noon. Her burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery. If desired donations can be made in her name to 3 Rivers Hospice. Millie’s family would like to thank the staff at Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth for their care in her 7 year stay with them.
