Marjorie J. Anthony, 86, passed away peacefully July 16, 2019 at Greene Meadows Nursing Center surrounded by her family. She was born on January 3, 1933 in Ithaca, to Lloyd and Mable Jenks. Marjorie had a passion for music which started at a young age. Which led her to further her education in music at the Crane School of Music at Potsdam and eventually earning her Masters from Ithaca. She taught English and music for both the Hudson City School District and Faith Christian Academy. She was also a member of the New York State Teachers Association. She was an accomplished organist who played for Holy Family Church in Stottville, Second Reformd Church in Philmont and St. Rose of Lima in Hackensack New Jersey. Marjorie was dearly loved by the Christian community and will be remembered for serving the Lord, until the day of her passing. While at Greene Meadows she played for all of the religious services, and did the morning announcements as Marjorie the Pearl. Marjorie is survived by her five children; Barbara Stengel, Robert (Susan) Anthony, Charles (Ori Ann) Anthony, David Anthony, and Lawrence (Gayle) Anthony. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren. In addition to her daughter in law April. She was predeceased by her husband Jerome in 2003, her sister Dorrice Wallis, her brother, Robert Jenks, and her son in law, George Stengel. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 10:30 AM from Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Interment will take place on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery.
