September 10 1926 June 13 2019
Madeline Virginia (Jordan) Houston Gordon of Bunker, Missouri passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Madeline was born in Bunker, Missouri on September 10, 1926 to the late John and Mexico (Reese) Jordan. Over the years Madeline worked hard to raise her family. She was a longtime member of the Little Vine United Baptist Church. She worked for the US Forestry Department and also for the Missouri department of Conservation, she was also a Police Woman for the City of Bunker. She loved flowers, and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and fishing with Paul. Most of all Madeline loved her family, and they loved her right back. Even though she was homebound for the last few years, she always kept up with what was going on within her family. The phone was always ringing, from one or another of her children and grandchildren. Her memories would always take her back to the years she spent growing up on Toms creek. if any of the family wanted to know about the years gone by, or even up to the most current times, she could probably tell you something about them. For most of us, we know how many battles Madeline fought to overcome health issues over the last several years, she probably won a hundred, but now she has now won her final battle, and is healed with our Lord. Madeline V. Gordon is survived by her husband Paul Gordon, of the home; children, William Houston & wife Jodi, of Mocksville, NC, Milton Houston and wife Dina, of Salem, MO, Johnny Houston and wife Brenda, of Enid, OK, Kathy Reed, of Bunker, MO, Shirley Smith, of Enid, OK, Ron Houston and wife Dena, of Rolla, MO, and Jackie Houston, of Bunker, MO; step-daughter, Patricia Whitten, of Selmer, TN; 13 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. In addition to her parents, Madeline was preceded in death by her husbands, Mancel Houston, and Arnold (Pete) Gordon; brothers, Ira, Elzie, and Ed Jordan; sisters, Ethel Martin, Alma Mayfield, Bessie Estep, and Myrtle Bibble; special niece, Dean Miner; daughter-in-law, Lisa Houston; son-in-law, Don Reed; grandson, Joey Reed; step-sons, O’Neil and Tommy Houston, Great Grandson Dusty Brawley.
