Linda R. Gilliland, age 72 of Bybee, passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, July 9, 2019. She was a member of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from BASF Corporation, formerly American Enka and was a substitute teacher for years at Centerview Elementary School up until her illness which kept her from the children she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Wayne E. Gilliland; and parents Bradford and Hazel Reed. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Shults of Bybee; daughter and son-in-law Angela and Steve Hudson of Newport; grandchildren Emily and Melody Shults of Bybee and Melinda and Michael Hudson of Newport; brothers Cecil Reed of Bybee and Charles Reed (Leslie) of Bulls Gap; sisters Anita Samples (Jerry) of Dandridge and Eyvonne Jenkins (Terry) of Bybee; sister-in-law Wanda (Bob) Eaton of Johnson city; several nieces and nephews and special friend Rick Buckner. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, Friday, July 12, 2019 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow on Friday at 7:00 pm in the Manes Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Samples officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 13, 2019 in Centerview Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
