James’ Obituary James Arden (Bruh) Battle James Arden Battle (affectionately known as “Bruh”) was born on August 5 in 1941 to the proud parents of James and Effie Battle in Pinetops North Carolina. He was the 5th of 8 children, and the only male. He was educated in the North Carolina school system.and learned many skills that would help him become an outstanding man and wonderful father. In 1961, James moved to Brooklyn, NY and started working as a Printer for Famous Envelope, and excelled in his craft. He then met and married Shirley Ann Harris. From this marriage James gained a son, Cedric Harris, and his daughter Shannon Cerise Battle was born. James, then relocated to Englewood, NJ and started working for Amalgamated Printing. He worked here until he retired. He joined Trinity Baptist Church of Hackensack NJ in 2005 and attended faithfully. He touched many lives and his time spent on Earth will never be forgotten. He is predeceased by his father (James Battle) mother (Effie Battle) and 4 sisters (Annie Elizabeth, Lucy Gray, Warlina, and Queen Esther). He leaves to cherish his memories with love: His loving children Cedric and Shannon; 6 grandchildren Daelyn Harris, Shadee Credle, Nyles Harris, Nevada Harris, Krystal LaBeet, and Korel LaBeet; and 3 sisters Mary Andrews-White (Walter), Effie Ree Battle and Ernestine Johnson (Harvell). He also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and numerous cherished friends, such as Cliff Harrison. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Read More
