George Di Iorio 2019

Passed away peacefully Friday morning of July 26th in San Pedro, California. George was born in Ischia, Italy to Sebastian and Livia Di Iorio (dec.) on June 10, 1946. He is survived by his daughter Maria Livia (Mike), grandchildren Michael and Marisa, brother Anthony (Martha), sister Maria Francesca Koerner (Bill dec.), brother Giuseppe, brother John (Maria), Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and best friend Frank Chartier. George and his family arrived in New York July 1956 and later relocated to San Pedro, California in March 1957, to be with family and the fishing industry. George attended Cabrillo Ave. School, Dana Middle School, San Pedro High School. He also attended L.A. Harbor College, Long Beach City College and Cal Arts where he studied film and cinematography. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, classical music, motion picture soundtracks, photography and filming. Services will be held Thursday, August 1st, visitation, 5pm-7pm and a Rosary at 7pm at McNerney’s Mortuary, 570 W. 5th Street, San Pedro, California. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 2nd at 12:30pm at Mary Star of the Sea Church 877 W. 7th Street, San Pedro, California. Private burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S. Western Ave., San Pedro, California. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mary Star of the Sea Church Christian Care Ministry, 853 W. 7th Street, San Pedro, California, 90731.
