Fred’s Obituary Mr. Fred Smith, age 94, of Corning, AR., passed away on Saturday July 20, 2019 at Piggott Community Hospital. Mr. Smith was born in Datto, AR., on July 01, 1925. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He was a member of the Corning Masonic Lodge # 719. He was a retired state auditor for Arkansas. He loved woodworking and farming. He was of Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife Sandy Smith children Freddie Smith of Missouri, Rodney “Goose” Smith of Corning, AR. Sharon Williams of Piggott, AR. Four stepchildren Kim Hart of Little Rock, AR. Keith Hart of Corning, AR. Kevin Hart of Jonesboro, AR. Kirk Lonidier of Jonesboro, AR. sister Jesse Cannady of Michigan; other survivors include ten grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren. Preceded in death by first wife Genny; parents Cad Smith and Garnett (Herren) Smith Brown; and brothers J.B. Smith, Earl Smith, and Albert Smith; sister Helen Hasty and son Larry “Fuzzy” Smith. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow services at Corning Cemetery in Corning, AR. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 12:00 PM until time of service. Read More
