Fred Benjamin Miller Jr. was born on June 14, 1950 in Enumclaw, Washington to Fredrick and Sarah Miller. Fred joined the US Marine Corps after graduating from White River High School and proudly served in the 9th Motor Transport Battalion, 3rd Marine Division during the Vietnam War. Fred was honorably discharged as a Sergeant; earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Rifle Marksman Badge. He was immensely proud of his service and his country, and was a credit to the uniform he wore and the flag he fought for. After his military service Fred followed in his father’s footsteps and went to work in the woods as a logger. He worked in the woods for close to 30 years and is a well-respected member of the local logging community. Following his career as a logger Fred worked as a Maintenance Technician for the city of Sumner for many years. Along life’s road he met and married the love of his life, Cheryl Ann. Together they lived at their beautiful property in South Prairie where Fred put his heart and soul into providing a wonderful place for his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends to gather. Together he and Cheryl raised four children, and was also a beloved grandfather to nine grandchildren. Fred was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and hunting deer and elk; relaying his skills and knowledge to his sons and grandsons. As a younger man he enjoyed baseball and softball, and played in a tournament against countries from around the globe. His skill and humor at relaying the astounding stories and tales of his life was rivaled by none. Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Sarah Miller; sister Arlene; and brother-in-law Ray. He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl; daughters Erika and Jessica; sons Luke and Matt (Dayna); grandchildren Logan, Joshua, Kaitlin, Ryder, Maloree, Danika, Kari, Landon, and Addisyn; brothers Bob and Ron; and sister Norma. Fred will be inurned at Tahoma National Cemetery.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Fred B Miller June 14 1950 July 12 2019 (age 69).
