Esther Zaugg Schonauer, age 91, of Killbuck, Ohio passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Pomerene Hospital, Millersburg, Ohio following a short illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Clifford Beck officiating. Burial will take place at Killbuck Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Michael J. Fox foundation (to help speed a Parkinson’s cure) P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014. Esther was born July 16, 1928 in Holmes County Ohio and was the daughter of Lloyd and Jane (Gray) Brink. On April 4, 1950 she married Jack Zaugg and he proceeded her in death in 1983. She later married David Schonauer, he survives. Esther was a homemaker all her life. She was a member of the Killbuck Church of Christ. Esther enjoyed gardening and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Gary (Verla) Brink, Carl (Deb) Zaugg and Ron (Denise) Zaugg all of Millersburg and Donna (Rick) Greenough of Loudonville; two stepchildren, Chris Schonauer and Michael Schonauer; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Lee.
