Erica Renee Martin, 42, passed away on July 24, 2019. She was born in Evansville, IN on February 24, 1977 to Charles R. “Dick” Martin and Becky (Deig) Martin. Erica was a graduate of FJ Reitz High School, class of 1995, and held degrees in Psychology and Photo Journalism from Indiana University. She most recently was a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. Erica had a huge heart and was passionate about photography, music, walking Anna on the Burdette Park trails, swimming and seeing nature throughout the country including the stars, moon and sun above us. She is survived by her parents, Charles R. “Dick” and Becky (Deig) Martin; siblings Rodney Martin, Doug (and Amy) Martin and Jenna (Martin) Eup; her niece Jasmine Martin and nephews Peyton Martin and Lincoln Eup. She is also survived by her special pets Anna (dog), Leo and Luna (cats). Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday August 1st, 2019 at Pierre Funeral Home 2601 W Franklin St, Evansville, IN. Deacon Tom Goebel will conduct a Christian rite service at 7:00 pm. Private burial ceremony will take place at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Erica’s honor to the Vanderburgh County Humane Society, PO Box 6711, Evansville, IN or to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (www.nami.org).
