Graveside services for Elizabeth Marie Vargo will be 10:00 AM, Monday, July 22, 2019 at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville. Elizabeth was born May 7, 1923 in Painesville to Martin and Regina (Tarsza) Balla. She passed away July 17, 2019 in Fairport Harbor. Elizabeth was a clerk for Thayer’s Pharmacy for over 20 years and she was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She did volunteer work at the gift shop at Lake Hospital East for many years, as well as the Fine Arts Building for the Lake County Fair. She also could be found working the voting polls for Lake County. Her greatest passion was cooking and baking. All who knew her will remember her cabbage rolls, chicken paprikas, and her huge array of pastries. Elizabeth is survived by her three children, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Vargo Sr. in 1973; her brothers, Frank Balla, Martin Balla, John Balla, Michael Balla, Steve Balla, and her parents Martin and Regina.
