Eddie L. Hines of Gainesville, Florida passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the age of 81 years. He was born in Dade City, Florida. Eddie proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He lived in Lake County over 30 years and worked as a police office for the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Eddie retired as a Detective. He was a Florida Gators fan and followed all the sports teams. He also loved to fish. Eddie is remembered and will be dearly missed by his daughter, Angela Chittum of Tampa, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Michael Gallagher of Gainesville, Florida; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Kim Hines of Georgia; grandchildren, Jake (Ansley) Hines, Sarah Hines, Riley Peterson, Jonah Peterson, Luke Gallagher, Noah Gallagher and McKenna Gallagher and one great grandson, Bowen Hines. Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Sunday, July 28 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Military Honors will be held at Florida National Cemetery on Monday at 1:00 pm.
