Duane Eugene Gepner, age 73, of Brooklyn, Iowa, formerly of Tracy, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Fonda Specialty Care Center in Fonda, Iowa. Donald was born on February 20, 1946, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Oren and Cleo (Hawley) Gepner. He attended Mt. Ayr High School and graduated with the Class of 1968. Donald was united in marriage to Diana Culver on October 7, 1971 in Polk County, Iowa. They were blessed with over 47 years of marriage. Donald was employed for most of his adult life with the Telephone Company. He was a splicer and later a technician. He was relocated several times through his career, including to Des Moines, Delmer, DeWitt, Newton, Minnesota, and later to Tracy and Brooklyn. Donald enjoyed hunting and fishing on the river in his younger years, loved animals (especially cats and dogs), and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Donald’s wishes were to be cremated. A private family burial will take place on a later date at Bellefountaine Cemetery in rural Tracy. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Diana Gepner of Brooklyn, Iowa. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Oren and Cleo Gepner; three brothers, Bill Gepner, Carl Gepner, and Larry Gepner; and one sister, Mary Ann Frantz.
