Deborah A. Edge, 58, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 28, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospital, in New Bedford. She was the wife of the late Manuel Beargeon. Born in Ware, MA, daughter of the late Peter Edge, Jr. and Joan E. (Demoranville) Edge, she lived most of her life in New Bedford where she graduated from New Bedford High School and attended services at the Salvation Army. Deborah was a Behavior Technician at Chrystal Springs in Assonet and had also worked at the Paul Dever’s School. She was active with the Salvation Army and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Heather Beargeon and her fiancé Shaquille Mendes and Jacob Edge all of New Bedford; her grandchildren, Anyis Ann Rose Mendes and Aviah Mae Ethel Mendes; two brothers, Myron and Robert Edge both of New Bedford; two sister in laws, Shelly Pina of New Bedford and Cheryl Whipple of RI; and nieces and nephews, Kacie Albritton, Sonny, Ryan, Robbie and Justin Edge and the late Bethie Edge. Her service will be held Friday, Aug 2, 2019, at 6pm, in the Salvation Army, 619 Purchase St., New Bedford, with visitation there from 5-6pm prior to the service. Cremation will follow. Arrangements are by the Donaghy-Hathaway Funeral Home, 465 County St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Deborah’s name to the Salvation Army.
