Daniel “Dan”‘s Obituary Daniel “Dan” Raymond Murphy, 64, of Acworth, died Monday, July 15, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 Saturday afternoon in the Chapel of Collins Funeral Home. A native of Massachusetts, Dan had lived in Acworth for 21 years, coming here from Florida. He retired as a self-employed contractor in the disaster recovery industry and was a member of Joshua’s Men, a Christian organization, and Cedarcrest Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Michael Murphy and is survived by his wife, Flo Murphy; children, Michael (Sherry Williams) Cobbett, Jason (Lisa) Murphy, and Michelle Murphy; grandchildren, Merisha, Kathryn, Kaitlyn, Jocelyn, Kaytee, and Alec; 2 great grandchildren; beloved dog, Bella; siblings, David Murphy, Nancy Rau, and Patricia Woodard; several nieces and nephews also survive.
