Funeral services for Clara Mae Rogers, 89, of Gladewater, will be held at 2:00 pm., Sunday, July 7, 2019, in the Chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home with Leward J. LaFleur officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Saturday, July 6, 2019. Interment will be held at Rosedale Cemetery in Gladewater. Clara Mae was born November 4, 1929, to Joseph Ammar and Mable Jacobsen Ammar, in Victoria, Texas, and she passed from this life on July 4, 2019, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She married Benny Rogers, December 25, 1950, in her parent’s home and he preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Tony Rogers of Gladewater, Joe Rogers of Rockwall and Stacy “Pete” Dheil and husband, Alan of Gladewater; grandchildren, Nicky Sparks Young, Taylor Shipp and Kellie Shipp; great grandchildren, Michael Sparks, Tyler Sparks, Paxton Shipp and Welles Shipp; great great grandchildren, Stetson Sparks, Journey Sparks and Roxie Sparks; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Benny Rogers; her parents; son, Bobby Rogers; grandson, Scott Sparks; great great grandson, Kristopher Sparks; brother, Carl Ammar; and sister, Julia Ammar. Pallbearers will be James Charles Rogers, Stan Jones, Taylor Shipp, Michael Sparks, Tyler Sparks and Morgan Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Onie Holt, Jr. and Walter Sparks.
